Bat Day

Jax "Gooseball" Fielder seems destined to finish his final lap around the sun in a hospital bed. A former major league pitcher, B-29 turret gunner, and founder of his own religion, Fielder is as out of place in 21st century consumer America as are the Japanese conjoined twins with whom he shares a hospital room. Yet even in his dotage, assisted by the twins, a jaded orderly, and a suicidal social worker, Fielder is able to inspire the Second American Revolution.

Bat Day is the final novel in the critically acclaimed "Gooseball" Fielder trilogy. It has all the humor and heart of Fielder's Choice (1991) and Cross Body Block (1995).
